The Inside Scoop on Esthetics with Meredith
Routines are a must for our everyday lives. Think about it-whether it’s making your bed every morning, taking your vitamins, brushing your teeth, etc. Everyone has some sort of routine that starts you off on the right foot to have the best day possible. I’m here to tell you that incorporating skin health into your routine can be one of the most beneficial things you can do for your self-care needs!
The largest organ your body has is your skin. It helps to protect you, so we need to make sure you are also protecting it and taking care of it properly. Everyone’s skin is different, so building a routine is not a one-size-fits-all. One thing that all skin types can benefit from though is a simple routine we call “Getting Skin Ready.” A cleanser, exfoliant, toner, and SPF are all things that everyone needs in their routine in order to get your skin healthy. From there, you can add serums, hydrators, eye creams, etc. I know it can be overwhelming to decide what exactly your skin needs, but thankfully we have a skin specialist here at Rejuv (me!) who is here to help customize the best regimen for you. And not only is a morning routine important, but a night-time routine is also essential to have the healthiest skin possible. It sets you up for a relaxing night of sleep so you can wake up feeling refreshed for the day! In your night routine you are going to want to make sure to double cleanse, exfoliate, tone, and hydrate your skin. Let’s talk about double cleansing for a minute. It’s exactly how it sounds- cleansing your skin twice at night is so important. It removes dirt, makeup, and oil leftover from the day so then the second cleanse can focus on giving the skin a deep clean.
I could go on forever about my passion for skin health and why a routine is so important to have, but it really creates time to just focus on taking care of yourself, which we all need to prioritize. The better we look, the better we feel, and that allows us to live the best life possible. I have personally seen my own skin transform and it is so rewarding. Plus, who doesn’t want to have healthy, glowing skin?
